Removing every instance of nopredict from the macro should fix that, but I did this and I'm getting the same thing. Well not the message, but my char just wonders around aimlessly as soon as I hit the movebehind.mac. The looking straight up in the air thing is gone but it still wants to focus attention on the name of the mob for some reason when running rogue-assist by itself. :?

Question: How can I stop it from making my char sit when she's lost the tiniest bit of health? Anyway to change that to like 50% or something?

One other question for ya. Anyway to add the mashing of the disarm skill into this macro? I'm not great at coding or I'd try it myself.

Great macro by the way Grim. Best one out there for rogues IMHO. 8)

I think this should be fixed now.

Q1) When I wrote this the MQ didnt' have /cast item. This was set up to /press 0 for my brigand's chestguard to heal me if I was not in combat and below 90pct. If you had sit set to the 0 key it would cause your problem. I have changed the macro to use /cast item and there is a setting at the begining of the macro to set if you want it to do heal check and what item to use for healing.

Q3) Added disarm variable and ability to macro.

im using the current version 3 of the script, but im still getting it looking up at the mob name, plus it will not follow the mob if it goes off on a angle, it will just keep running straight. Also if i use the movebehind mac my rogue just keeps running and looks up at the sky, also using the current 2.1 i believe was the current version. Anything i can do to possably fix this? im pretty new to MQ but im catching on pretty well. Just dont know all the basics yet.

It will look at mob because that is the default of /face. If you don't want it to then make the /face fast into /face nolook fast. The not following a mob I don't know what your problem is there. How are you starting the macro?

Thanks

i load the rogue-assist by doing /mac rogue-assist.mac 8 10 14 then every time I want it to move behind I do, on the same key

/pause 5,/assist <player name here>
/mac movebehind 8 10 14

and it just runs wild =)

sorry, forgot to add that these commands are setup the exact same way they were setup before the newest patch, these rogue-assist and movebehind macros were excellent for kiting with friends

ok i got it working, but havent tried the /face nolook fast yet. Will that option keep it from looking up at the name? Also does it judge distance from the name above the mob or from the mob its self? Seems to me that it judges range from the name of the mob, was pretty weird fighting a giant with my rogue inbetween his legs looking up :p

im starting the macro with /macro rogue-assist.mac (this part i change depending on the type of mobs im going to face, see giant desc above)
i usually use like 10 15 20 or something similar, unless im fighting alot of small mobs.

Maybe the nolook will solve part of that problem, will have to test it out.

Im also thinking of changing up this macro to work with my sk instead.
i'll be sure to give credit to grim if you want me to. Still need to learn how to add spells to be cast, but im working on getting there :)

aiight, I took out all instances of the nopredict that I saw and am still getting the message "there were no matches for (0-100) nopredict.

I'm not sure what changed from the previous version before the newest EQ patch and newest release of MQ, but before, the rogue-assist would continue to follow the mob even if it turned, now if the mob turns then my char will continue to run off in the direction I was heading. the movebehind macro works as it should

sorry for the problems, but I really like these macros and the work you've done, if you can help in anyway it would be greatly appreciated

Learning what n represents in this line code from Grimjack

Post by Guest » Wed Nov 12, 2003 3:46 pm

Sub Disarmit
/if n @DoDisarm==0 /return

Where is n representing here and where is it actualy derived from? All the other variables are declared and referenced within the code and I understand those.

Thanks for your help grim...

In an "IF" statement, the "n" is needed to let the macro engine know it's a numeric comparison.

What does the line in grimjacks code that says:

/doevents

What does this actually do? Since I am trying to add an event to this script it would be helpful to know :>

Tells the macro to run any events that have been triggered.

go behind and walls

Post by Guest » Thu Nov 13, 2003 4:19 pm

Is there a way for MQ to check if the mob is agains the wall? One major problem I've had with this is getting behind the mob if it is cornered or against the wall. I will most likely just keep running into the wall next to the mob and not ever hit it.
