But there are still 4 threads called eqgame.exe that continue to run after all programs are shut down, these do not show up with con/alt/delete and cannot be shut off with processviewer, I have to reboot the puter to eliminate them. These didnt used to be there before, but don't seem to cause any problems.
So now I can experiment and feel silly about ranting and raving. I suppose if I eventually learn to write code I can see if I can make a good text file called MacroQuest for dummies and see if they like it, because really if you don't have any experience with coding you are completely lost. I've read through that html file several times and it means absolutely nothing to me. I couldnt write even the simplest macro if my life depended on it.

wodandieus: The easiest way to learn is to look at other macros. It isn't all that hard to get a basic idea of what is going on, the hardest part for me was all the variables that were used.

I know, it's going to take me a little while, but I really do want to learn how to make macros, I have a shaman who sells tons of sow potions (hundreds every week.) brewing and baking. The alchemy is going to be tricky because I cant just alter an already made macro, you have to combine ingredients in one bag then combine them again in another, gonna be fun I think.
Thanks for all those who were patient with me, I've tried to be polite, but if I came off a bit of a whiner I do apologize, I guess with coding there really isnt simple basic instructions.

That alchemy macro shouldn't be too hard to create, just have 2 combine loops instead of one...

This is what happens when you don't do a /unload to unload MQ before you exit EQ. The only problem they cause is that they take up resources and that they will prevent you from patching correctly because they still have EQ files flagged as in use.
Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one, but most of them stink.

I think he quoted my response above in which I quoted you, but mis-edited the quote my taking out my name and leaving in yours.
The problem I'm having with the running threads that I have to re-boot windows to close are the result of Macroquest causing EQ to crash, thus I cannot do an unload. The /who npc will cause it to crash rather often at this point. I'm assuming that if has to do with the new UI and I don't expect it to be corrected till the new UI is complete or at least out of beta2.
