EQBC

Post by kritzs » Tue Dec 22, 2020 11:42 am

MORNING,

I recently starting using EQBC and box 5 everquest accounts. 4 are one computer and 1 on a single laptop. I cannot get the laptop to connect to the desired ip and it seems to work but only indicates that the current player is listed. The 4 others are listed on the other computer and no issues running program.

I went to the router per the instructions and nothing there helps me. I have gotten the IP from one computer and tried connecting with the other, NOTHING!

I am not sure what is going on nor how to fix it. Not sure the firewall is keeping it from recognizing either. anyone offer a fix or help

If EQBC is running on the same PC as the 4 they can all connect to the 127.0.0.1 address. The notebook your connect the the others computer real address (may look like 192.168.0.110). You must also open the EQBC port (likely 2112) in the firewall of the computer running EQBC server. You only run the server on one computer.

For testing you can try to disable the firewall (providing its on your home private network). But never run with it left off.

Also remember that real IP address can change everytime you reboot

You can modify you MQ2EQBC.ini file to have your toonname and the name of your server computer like below. Also make sure you have windows firewall opened for the EQBC ports or just disable it if you are on a home / secure network.

[bertox.MyToon]
Server=MyComputerNameOrIP
