MQ2AutoLogin - Feature Request

Post by dewey2461 » Fri Dec 01, 2017 7:41 pm

Problem: The EQ client freezes during zoning.

Solution: Add a watch dog timer feature to MQ2AutoLogin ( or other plugin ) that would detect when an EQ client is no longer responding, at which time the plugin would kill the frozen client.

Bonus points if the plugin can re-start EQ with the profile of the character that was terminated.

Negative points if the plugin thresholds are too low and it kills clients that really are still zoning.

How to recreate the problem: Load 10+ characters. Have them automatically accept TL requests. Have them all TL into guild hall at the same time. Expect the root cause is a race condition in the EQ loading phase. Brainic helped me debug a hung client and the call stacks for all the threads were in some form of "wait" at the kernel level.
