The point is simply, who cares?
I do, dumb$hit. Its my code. And its the people who helped me write it. Know how I found those people to assist me? I found their names in other code that they posted, so I knew who the f.uck to go to when I had trouble.

You can only speak for yourself when you attempt to bang the triviality of code authorship. You cant speak for others. and certainly not me. So I'll tell you now, its godamn important to a lot of people on here that their names be posted on the quality work they do.

So heres the thing. You openly admit you found the code, and updated it, thus it wasnt yours to begin with. HELLO! IM THE AUTHOR. Im here, now, telling you, that obviously, you may do with the code what you wish, but that it is, in fact, my code, so please put my name on it. How you found it without my name? I dont know. But the code that you came across and are now posting, is mine. Please give credit.

Yes, this is obviously how professionals have disagreements and discussion..with profanity and hotheadedness. Review what I've written, it's been pure logic and non-flaming.

I'm not the one that posted it in the first place, I was simply the one calling you on having the wrong attitude towards the project. Seriously, if your code means this much to you, please don't post it any more.

Oh suck a dick, loser. If youre too ignorant to realize why anyone wants their name on their work and not be a professional at the same time, quit posting altogether. I never said I was a professional, anyway, and Im really not threatened by attempted slams on my maturity. Oh gawd, I used profanity. I must be somehow beneath you.

Ive read what you wrote. and Im not RETURNING a flame. Im flaming you for being a witless turd who shouldnt be butting his stupid ass into things he doesnt understand.

No, you were simply the one who decided to be an asshole to someone you see as new to the boards. Check the post count, retard. And as far as having the wrong attitude? Its my code. I want my name on it. I dont give a godamn if you think thats the wrong attitude, because as far as my INITIAL attitude, that was the entire motivation. No, wanting MY name on MY work isnt the wrong attitude.
Seriously, if your code means this much to you, please don't post it any more.
Im sure youll find that the general etiquette of this place is to share code, and hand-in-hand, give credit to those that helped. Simply because you feel that etiquette is beneath you, and trivial is no excuse to neglect it, nor for me, or anyone else, to stop posting it. And if thats how you feel, eat cock, lamer.

Amadeus: i think the point that they are trying to get across to you is that it is curteous to give credit where credit is due. Sure there are no rules saying you have to in this case, nothing is copyrighted, it is just a good thing to do.

Dirtface: There is no need to break out the fire on these boards in such a small case as this. Sure it is your work, and it probly pisses you off when you don't get credit for it, but that is no excuse to flame someones ass off. If if it weren't the case we would be no better than the SEQ boards :P

Everyone else: Be nice and give credit when you use/copy other peoples code, not because you have to, but because that is probably what you would want done for you.

ahh well i feel like a counselor, i'm gonna go take a shower i feel dirty

I seem to remember one of the board administrators posting once that flaming was grounds for banning on the MQ boards.

And, for the record, I understand quite a bit. To begin with, all this arguing is over scripting...not code.

Well, while I don't have the ability to ban anyone, I can certainly put a stop to this by locking this thread, which I will do now.

Salutations,
I know you locked, it, but who knows who was the name of the person who first coded the start menu? I thought it would've been a good point in your post McKay
