hahah.. try to open bags and move them around. can't. :/

... edit ...

yah, can move them around, just not on the text label by default... have to grab the edges of the window now.

Map Background

Post by Tinydru » Wed Dec 10, 2008 7:07 am

The map window defaults to a black background - the result of this is that I am often unable to see many lines, etc. on my maps (downloaded from MapFiend).

How do other people deal with this (are you doing something to your maps to change all of the line colors, etc.)? Or - how do I go about changing the background color of the map (I don't see any bottons for this purpose and right-clicking on the window does not give me the normal window control menu (background, alpha, etc.).

Thanks for any help,
Tiny

By the way eFudd - that fix worked great for the buff and short buff windows. For those non-Devs out there (which I am sorely one of...), here is an example of the spot in XML file where you add eFudds line:

Code: Select all

<Label item="SDBW_Buff0">
    <ScreenID>SDBW_Buff0Label</ScreenID>
    <Style_Tooltip>false</Style_Tooltip>
    <EQType>600</EQType>
There are a bunch of spots to add it in both files (e.g. SDBW_Buff0Label to SDBW_Buff14Label).

Just look for the same things in the EQUI_BuffWindow.xml file (make certain that you edit the right BuffWindow file as there are three to choose from (depends on what you use in game).

If you have a means of running perl scripts (via Cygwin, ActivePerl, Linux) there are several scripts in this ShowEQ thread for converting black lines to white.

I downloaded a parchment background for my map from www.eqinterface.com which I place in the appropriate UI folder. Changes your map background to a nice parchment paper appearance. Makes everything easily readable.

Remove the Texture then you will be fine, That were instructions by me a Long time ago. with the old Thread.
This UI is designed for 1280x1024 is the screen res

More changes, added Clicky's to Hot-button1, page 1 Inventory/weps, page 2 is clicky's/gear.

Put saves back on Hot-button1

To change the color on the map you get rid of the texture and change the tint

To move the Chat and buff window you drag the sides, you move all 4 sides

Yesterday when I downloaded

Code: Select all

Style_Tooltip>false</Style_Tooltip>
was not in.
HAve you fixed the other reported bugs?
I havent played mor than an hour since this patch but it was working for me after I made the change above.

The non-mq2 version is working fine for me, but the mq2 version posted on page 1 CTD's every time. Is there a way to tell which file it is causing it? I'll be happy to tell you if so.

Either I'm the only one using the mq2 version or I'm the only one that's CTD with it.. anyone?

You are the only one CTD.
Redownload it. There were fixes... If that does not help do a full scan on your machine.
