Lax and MacroQuest community

I don't know you, or how well you knew Joe (Plazmic/WyrvenX) Buchanan, but he passed away Thursday morning of a Brain Aneurysm at his home in Kirkland, WA. He was only 29 years old and left a family of two young boys. I grew up with him in Superior and we were best friends in highschool. Right now, I really do not know what is going to happen, this was completely unexpected.

I've known about Joe's contribution to MacroQuest (he started it afterall) and I feel it's important that you and or the community knows about this. Joe was a great friend, a wonderful programmer, and a devoted gamer. It still comes as a shock to me to learn that he has left us.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at "namkce @NOSPAM hotmail.com"

Sincerely,
Robert Eckman

I know that many of you arrived on the MQ scene after the time of Plazmic; however, you should all know that this was originally his creation and he was the sole maintainer of MacroQuest for years before Lax, myself, and Dont_know_at_all arrived on the scene.

Plazmic was also the one that insisted that MQ be open source, and defended that decision aggressively.

Plaz inspired me to pick up programming... if it was'nt for him and MQ I probably wouldnt have the career and job I have today, I am sorry he has crossed over... We have lost a great man, but we can keep his creation alive, As long as EQ exists, MQ will be maintained and updated.

Wow, I don't know what to say :(

I met Plazmic a few years back on the Microsoft campus where he worked. Now that he's gone I may have to post the uncensored picture of him and me.

May his legacy live on in MacroQuest and his other endeavors.

p.s. was he really WyvernX? sneaky bastard :)
