Willing to hire someone to work on offsetts...

Post by Droken » Fri Apr 11, 2003 5:24 am

Are all of you professionals who work on the offsets in your spare time? Or is there a programmer available without a job who wouldn't mind getting paid to work on these offsets full time? ;)

E-mail me and maybe we can work something out.

Dude, you are SO pathetic that it sickens me. You're worse than the fags who pay 800 bucks for a stupid video game character. Oh well. It's your money I guess.
Fuck you, I have enough friends.

kryologik, you seriously need to be slain man  . If someone's offering money to people to improve this project, hell, you should be overwelmed with joy of the fact that this project is going to improve, not flaming with your unwanted 2 cents.... what the hell have you done for the project lately? If your best contribution is flame_004, please, keep it, and go off and continue to inbreed some more. Personally, the fact that someone is going to pay to have a talented programmer work full time on fixing macroquest when Sony breaks it will just make things better for the MQ community. /cheer Droken :)

I think anyone who contributes to the project financially should be commended, however, rather than paying someone to work on offsets, why not pay to take some programming courses, or hire someone as a tutor and learn how to do it yourself?

well i dont have the time as i work full time and am in school for a non computer related degree...

and, would rather pay and have instant gratification then spend a year trying to learn what everyone else ou t there already knows...

that is my reason for just wanting to hire someone. they have the skillz and years of exp. i dont and will never have... so that is valuable and thus i am willing to pay... clear as mud? hehe

Lizard, who or what is DKAA? If there's a team of folks who work on this stuff.. e-mail me the specifics. I'm fully willing to personally fund their efforts. I'm not reffering to having the community all chip in small donations either. I mean full funding. =) It would be worth it to me to have offsets a couple of days early.

Source, why pay for a meal at McDonalds.. why not just learn to flip burgers yourself? Hell, why even pay for the beef? Just start up cattle ranching and do it yourself.

I'm not saying that it's a bad thing to contribute to MQ; On the contrary, I think it's great that you guys get financial support for your work, it's well deserved. Being a game developer myself, I understand that. I read his post wrong (class starts at 8am) and I thought he was just someone fiending to pay anyone to give him offsets. I apologize.

I believe that DKAA would be...

That feller who goes by dont_know_at_all. Or dont_know_it_all, or whatever his name is.

I don't think it's so terrible to contribute to the project by offering money, or even to hire someone to work on the project... But I think the bizzare thing is that you asked for someone to work on offsets. We already have people who post the complete offsets very shortly after a patch. On top of that, getting the new offsets is a trivial task... If you're going to offer money for something, at least do it for /click.

Ok, I am going to give my two cents...

If someone wants to pay to fund this project and keep the results private, Go for it. That is how it works...

If someone wants to pay to fund this project and make the results public, That person should be given special mention on the front of this website!

I don't see any evil in this.

or maybe

theres perfectly good reason for someone to want them earlier, probably beyond the aspect of it being just a game.
