Visual studio 2005

When i try and build the MQ2Main it keeps coming with " fatal error LNK1181: cannot open input file '..\Release\MQ2Main.lib' ". Any one know if it is a visual studio or macroquest2 bug. I have done the MQ2Auth file and have downloaded the file twice and both times with the same result

Make sure you're following the documentation step by step. I had unusual compile and link errors because I was taking shortcuts, rather than following the steps exactly as outlined in the MQ2 Manual. For instance, I was doing:

Build --> Build All

Rather than

Build --> Batch Build

I had to sit and watch a colleague go through the process step by step before I realized I wasn't doing what the documentation said to do. RTFM.

I have compilied macroquest before with a different version of visual studio but i dont know if i am doing something wrong with visual studio 2005 or if it is to do with macroquest2.

I found out how to do it now. A person gave me a link to the website that said how to compile it with visual studio 2005. http://www.macroquest2.com/wiki

Also, with Visual Studio 2005 I always add the following options to the Configuration Properties->C++->Preprocessor :

_CRT_SECURE_NO_DEPRECATE
_CRT_NONSTDC_NO_DEPRECATE

Gets rid of all of those annoying warnings. :)

I havn't checked the wiki, so this might be in there already.
