SOE Beware

So, we seeing any new client-side code or ya think it's server-side/behavior-based detection -- or just the standard saber rattling saying "Ya all you that have whined, by sending out this MOTD, and for all the bozos that click on the link and we log and triangulate your IP, we'll send a GM to ...

Re: Patch Day: 2011.11.15

So going out on a limb here, I tried to remember from old times that there was some sort of override that could be put in place via a setting to try and make MacroQuest try to hook in as much as it could where possible. In digging around, this appears to be the ClientOverride #define variable, howev...

ISBoxer & MQ2

I've been able to successfully run MQ2 and EverQuest and then ISBoxer and EverQuest, but I have not been able to run ISBoxer and MQ2 at the same time. It seems that when ISBoxer is running EverQuest windows, MQ2 can't seem to hook into them for some reason. Is there something I should be doing on th...

Patch Day: 2011.11.15

It's been about 10 years since I played EQ and I just have to first say thanks for all of you in the community that have kept MQ2 alive. I was able to dust off the cobwebs and get it compiled and working and have been successfully using it now for a few weeks. With the patch on 2011.11.15, I notice ...

Forage Mastery

Needs a bit of TLC for the new forage mastery.... sub ItemSort /declare DoubleCheck local :Recheck /delay 5 /varset DoubleCheck "${Cursor.Name}" /if (!${Ini[forage.ini,ForageList,${Cursor.Name}].Length}) { /ini "Forage.ini" "ForageList" "${Cursor.Name}" "...

Is this a function I am just missing that is already in MQ? I just can't for the life of me find it if it exists.

Or is this one of those "if you are my buddy" functions that have yet to make it to the public version?

/merchant(open, "Joe Blow")

Is there a way to open a merchant's inventory other than walking up to them? I heard discussion that people were opening their bank inventory from across the zone and basically was wondering if this is technically possible to do. So question is, is "That target is too far away." a client-s...

A comment on the architecture of Xylobot: Xylobot plays man-in-the-middle between EQ and DirectX. Think of instead of detouring "EQ functions", they simply detour "DirectX functions" if you want to think of it that way. When EQ asks for a drawing space, it really is asking Xylo, ...

When you say you "Program now unloaded" and continued on with the conversation... is it just me or am I missing something -- if you shut down MQ mid conversation with someone (say you are running windowed), it shuts EQ down completely right then and there... My point is, had you "shut...

REQ: /itemtarget(id)

One of the problems I have found regarding ground spawn is that often times it involves items being placed inside trees. Our macros tend to get hung up or complex "walk-around" logic has to be written, however, there is no means of "flagging" that item as being "unaccessible...

X,Y,Z in /items (please CVS)

Hi guys, just my little contribution... Really helps out when ground spawns are inside trees, so that /items * kicks back x,y,z so you don't go hunt down that item again. On that note, I'll post a req for development regarding /itemtarget as well in another post... PCHAR GetFriendlyNameForGroundItem...
